I’m the Dean of Library Services and Professor at Mississippi University for Women.  With my co-authors, Martin Garnar and Dustin Fife, I’ve recently published A Starter’s Guide for Academic Library Leaders: Advice in Conversation, now available on Amazon.

I was born and raised in Mississippi, went to Wellesley College, worked as a mystery book editor at Bantam Books, had a stint in international marketing for a boutique hedge fund, then signed up for an MLIS at Simmons Graduate School of Library and Information Science after an information session I remember focusing on cats, coffee, and helping people.  I’ve worked at the MIT Libraries, MSState Libraries, and The W’s Fant Memorial Library. Since I returned to Mississippi in 2005, I’ve been involved in award-winning community theater, run a writers group for local poets and playwrights, served as the president of the Mississippi Library Association, and now edit T.K. Lee. Find me on Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, or ResearchGate.
